More About Me

I am a gameplay programmer that is constantly learning and striving to be better through continued education and practice. I endeavor to support others with any issues, both in my personal and professional life. I have strong communications skills and work ethics. My personal goal is to be a part of developing games for the enjoyment of others.

In 2023, I earned a Bachelor of Performing Arts in 3D Animation and Game Design with a concentration in programming from the School of Media and Design at the University of the Incarnate Word. During this time I worked on multiple game development projects across differing game engines as well as studying art, modelling and design.

In 2019 I began using C# and in 2020 C++ to develop games in the Unity and Unreal Engines respectively. For my senior thesis I worked as the lead programmer for two individual game development teams; one team using Unity for a game called “Fighting Fangs” and the other Unreal for the game “Way of the Gods”. As part of my role on these project I debugged and ensured a smooth transition to weekly builds. During this time I became familiar with Visual Studio, it’s build-in debugging tools and GitHub.

I am keen to sharpen my game development skills and open to all opportunities to further my experience and education. Please reach out to me here.

Personal Stuff

I grew up in a large family of 10 kids, 7 brothers and 2 sisters, I being the 8th oldest out of the 10. I consider myself to be tolerant of other people’s lifestyles, for example whether or not they are part of the LGBTQ+ community, because 2 of my brothers are part of said community. I have no bias on these kinds of things, people can live however they want to. I do not like to talk about politics very much; I have my opinions, others have theirs, and I just leave it at that.

During my high school years, I was part of the school’s band and golf team. This is where my love for music deepened and where I found a new hobby that I hope to continue in my free time. Throughout my life, I had put my focus towards my education, and while that is good I developed a habit of overworking myself especially in university. It’s weird, when I get overworked, I take a break but by doing so I feel guilty about it. I would say that that’s my biggest weakness as an employee, I work too hard.

When I was deciding what my concentration should have been, I was stuck between animation and programming. I liked both animation and programming, but the deciding factor was that half my class was going to choose animation and the other half modeling. I chose programming because it was a new pathway for UIW and I wanted to be a pioneer for that pathway, I thought it would be cool. As far as modeling, I made the choice not to be a modeler because I was not confident in my abilities as a modeler. Here is a link to my artstation and you can be the judge of that, fair warning it is terrible.
